2025 Highlights: Accelerating Innovation into Healthcare

As we wrap up 2025, we are incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together with our colleagues at Barts Health NHS Trust and Queen Mary University of London, as well as our local, national, and global partners from industry, academia, the NHS, local and central government, and the third sector.

This year has been defined by collaboration, bold ideas, and real‑world impact for patients.

Together with BGO, Lateral, and H.I.G. Capital, we have launched the Barts Life Sciences Cluster. With a planned investment of approximately £800m, the Cluster will unite clinical excellence and commercial innovation – supported by strong academic linkages – to deliver improved patient outcomes and economic opportunity.

We have also accelerated innovation in healthcare across North‑East London and beyond. Our impact has continued to grow through wide‑ranging innovation activity – from accelerating the use of AI and data‑driven tools, to deepening research collaborations, to supporting the development of the future workforce.

Looking ahead to 2026, we will keep building our capabilities, working closely with our partners to translate innovation from bench to bedside.
