Barts Health and ABHI Partner to Accelerate HealthTech Innovation – A Boost for Barts Life Sciences

Barts Health NHS Trust has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI) to drive the adoption of cutting-edge health technologies that improve care, reduce health inequalities, and empower clinical teams.
This collaboration aims to build a stronger health innovation cluster by bringing industry, academia, and frontline clinicians together to co-develop and scale technologies that support better outcomes for patients.
What this means for innovators
As a joint initiative between Barts Health and Queen Mary University of London, Barts Life Sciences stands to benefit directly from this strengthened partnership. The collaboration with ABHI enhances our mission to accelerate health tech from lab to bedside by:
-
Creating clearer pathways for technology adoption across NHS settings
-
Enabling direct engagement with industry and clinical teams
-
Supporting innovation that addresses local needs while being globally relevant
-
Helping to attract new investment and research into North East London
We look forward to working closely with Barts Health, ABHI, and our wider network of innovators to turn this collaboration into real-world impact for patients, staff, and communities across North East London and beyond.
